Last month, Butte College Instructor Kathleen Turner was providing instruction to the recruits of the Regular Basic Law Enforcement Academy at the main campus. Suddenly, Turner began experiencing signs of extreme medical distress. Several students and college staff members rendered medical aid by administering basic life support measures, including CPR and electronic defibrillation. As a direct result of their skilled efforts, Turner was revived and transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. She subsequently has made a full recovery. The students and staff were honored with medals at a recent Butte College Board of Trustees meeting this month for their life saving efforts.
